Under the authority of the Feeds Act and regulations and the Health of Animals Act and regulations, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) administers a National Feed Program. Livestock feeds manufactured, sold or imported into Canada must be safe for livestock; for humans and for the environment as well as effective for their intended purpose.
